Title
A study on effects of Osmoprimng on some early growth parameters of Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) varieties under saline condition.
Authors
Abstract
This study was carried out to evaluate osmopriming effects on early growth behavior of three safflower varieties (IL 111, Arak 2811 and Isfahan) under saline condition. So the seeds were treated by four levels of PEG6000 (0,-9,-18 and -22 bar) under four levels of salinity (0, 6, 12 and 18 ds/m) and the statistical experiment design was factorial that was based on CRD. Root length, shoot length and fresh weight of seedling were the traits that were studied by this research. The results indicated that Osmopriming levels had no significant effect on these traits under different salinity levels. The varieties didn’t shown any significant difference by the studied traits in the normal and the second level of saline factor (6 ds/m) but IL111 had shown a significant different behavior in higher levels of salinity compared with the rest varieties .
