Title
valuation of the response of some vegetative characteristics of wheat (Triticum aesativum L) to the intera and inter- specific competition with hoary cress (Cardaria draba) weed and different levels of nitrogen
Authors
Abstract
bstract: In order to evaluate the competitive effects of Hoary cress weed on wheat grain yield and biological under different nitrogen levels, a factorial experiment based on RCBD was conducted with three replications in Research Greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Birjand during 2013. Factors considered included pure nitrogen (from urea source) in three levels 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 gr/kg soil), wheat density in four levels (0, 4, 8 and12 plants per pot) and Hoary cress density in four levels (0, 2, 4 and6 plants per pot). Effects of nitrogen application and density of wheat and Hoary cress as well as their interactions were significant on final height and number of wheat tillers. The greatest height (90.1 cm) and number of tillers in wheat plant (4.6) were obtained with the lowest wheat density without weeds presence and also with utilization of 0.2 g/kg nitrogen and the lowest amounts of these traits were observed with 0.05 g/kg nitrogen and the density of 12 wheat plants, indicating 22.8 percent reduction in plant height and 50 percent decrease in number of tillers.
