Title
Study of chlorophyll fluorescence changes on two rapeseed cultivars under salt, drought and combined stresses
Authors
Abstract
In order to investigate the effects of combined, drought and salinity stresses on dry matter and chlorophyll fluorescence of two canola (Brassica napus L.) varieties, a factorial experiment was conducted based on in randomized complete block design at Shahid Chamran University during 2012-2013. The this experimental, Hyola401 and Shirale varieties were under salinity stress (tap water as control and 150 mM Sodium Chloride) and the drought stress(supplying of 100% as control and 30% of required water at beginning of flowering to early emergence of sacs). Results showed that salinity, drought and combined stress decreased dry matter, Fv/Fm, Fm and Fv.However, Fm increased under stresses conditions. At salinity, drought and combined stresses, negative and significant correlation was found between Fm and Fv. Generally, increased of F0 induced by Fv resulted in reduction of Fv/Fm and showed the highest effect on Fv/Fm.
