Title
Assessing genetic diversity of wheat recombinant inbred population derived from crosses F6 and F7 generations Kharchya in Gaspard
Authors
Abstract
To study the genetic diversity and relationships between characters, 91 F6 and 112 F7 families from crosses of Kharchya and Gaspard wheat cultivars were sown in an augmented design with four contorols whit 5 replications at 92-91 growind season at shahid Bahonar University research farm. Infertile and fertile tiller number, plant height, peduncle length, awn length, main spike length, flag leaf length and width, weight of the original plant, biological yield, weight of main spike, number of grains per main plant, seed weight and seed yield of main plant were measured. Analysis of variance showed that for all traits except infertile and fertile tillers, peduncle length and leaf width, there are significant difference among families. Correlation analysis showed that in F6 generation all traits except flag leaf width and in F7 generation all traits affecting grain yield. So to improve the performance of selection, these traits could be effective. Factor analysis showed that in F6 and F7 generations 4 and 3 factotrs, explained 73.26% and 77.58% Of variation, respectively. Given the high heritability traits awn length, main spike length, plant weight, main spike weight and grain yield per plant, it can be used for selecting high yielding families.
