Title
Effect of salicylic acid on the accumulation of dry matter and some physiological growth indices of S.C 704 Corn hybrids under water deficit stress
Authors
Abstract
In order to investigate the effect of salicylic acid on the accumulation of dry matter and some physiological growth indices of S.C 704 corn hybrids under water deficit, field conditions in the summer of 2013 in Dezful region as split plots in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Treatments included irrigation after 60, 90, 120 and 150 mm evaporation from pan class A in the main plots and with values of salicylic acid 0, 25, 50 and 75 mM at 6-8 leaf stage of the crop, the subplots were applied. Results showed that water deficit conditions, the effect of salicylic acid on the accumulation of dry matter growth indices and yield were positive, so that we can apply the proper irrigation and the use of anti-transpiration agent salicylic acid induced damage of any water deficit, especially can be prevented at critical stages of corn growth.
