Title
Effect of seed priming with growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) on morphological characteristics of Calendula officinalis
Authors
Abstract
This study was conducted to study the effect of seed priming with growth-promoting bacteria on morphological properties of marigold, using a randomized complete block design with four replications, under greenhouse condition. Treatments were include: Rhodococus sp., Corynebacterium sp., Mycobacterium sp., Bacillus sp., Azotobacter sp, Pseudomonas putida, Pseudomonas florescence,a mixture of all of bacteria and without bacteria as control. The results showed that seed inoculated with Pseudomonas putida significantly increased plant height, number of lateral stem, number of leaf, dry weight of shoot and number of flowers and inoculation with Azotobacter sp. significantly increased main stem height, leaf dry weight, root dry weight and root length.
